To craft swimwear whilst staying true to nature, means choosing the correct process throughout – from material to manufactories. It means going further and learning on a daily basis. We aim to constantly find the most innovative eco-threads and re-purpose disregarded textiles and materials. We aim to learn, change and educate on the long run.
Our Thread: EVO®
Currently, our innovative range of swimwear is crafted from a 100% bio-based thread: EVO®. We chose this yarn for its innovative qualities as much as it’s sustainable characteristics. It is a revolutionary bio-polyamide which is extracted entirely from high quality castor seed oil, making it fully renewable. The biomass source is castor bean, Ricinus Communis, which grows in dry areas not earmarked for the human or animal food chain.
Bio-based material has demonstrated lower global warming potential than pure synthetic production. The shift away from petroleum-derived fibres encourages further research into the field of bio-fibres.
Furthermore, our textile is Oeko-Tex certified. This certification ensures us that there are no hazardous chemicals used in dyeing the fabric.
Our Process: Made in Italy
Our yarn is dyed in the North of Italy, near Milan, before being sent directly to our production company near Venice. Each piece is cut and trimmed in order to minimalize fabric wastage.
Our labels and hang-tags are also crafted in Italy. The labels are made using recycled polyester yarn, which is created by transforming plastic bottles into a polymer. Our hang-tags are made of recycled paper. Keeping our entire production process in Italy further reduces our carbon footprint and ensures high-quality production.
Each swimsuit is enclosed in a re-usable pouch, crafted from up-cycled textiles which the team collected over the years.
Our Commitment: Constantly Adapting
As part of our ongoing commitment to the environment, we plant a tree in the Amazon for every shipment made, with the aim to reduce some of the carbon footprint caused by the journey. Since our launch in 2019, we have planted over 90 trees and will continue to do so, in partnership with One Tree Planted.
We are continuously looking for new organisations to partner with.
